Note On Rotary Foundation Donations

The Rotatry Foundation has changed the way that Rotarians get recognized for their donations.

Under the old system, Rotarians were awarded a certificate, pin, and medallion as a Paul Harris Fellow when they donated a cumulative total of $1,000 to the Foundation.

After that, when they have donated additional $1,000 increments they could chose to have friends or relatives recognized as Paul Harris Fellows, receiving the certificate, pin, and medallioins, or they could be recognized themselves for the additional amount by receiving a pin with saphprhires or rubies on it.

A few years ago this changed.  Rotarians now accumulate credit on two different tracks.  Once their cumulative donations exceed $1,000 their donations are added both to their “Recognition AMount” and to their “Recognition Points”.  They get recognized based on their “Recognition Amount” and they can designate other people as Paul Harris Fellows based upon their “Recognition Points”.

Essentially, Paul Harris Fellow recognition is on a 2-for-1 basis.  Once for the Rotarian making the donation, and once for the person or persons he designates.
